    Guest chefs at the Adelaide Showground Farmers' Market

    We have a great line up this January of local chefs hosting cooking demonstrations at the Adelaide Showground Farmers' Market.

    Bree May – Sunday 7 January 2018
    Bree May was the winner of My Kitchen Rules in 2014 and is a bespoke caterer, published writer and recipe developer.  Bree is also a charity ambassador for Bone Health Foundation and The Longest Table, as well as state brand ambassador for Brand SA.  She will bring some delicious recipes to the farmers’ market Kids' Club and the Market Kitchen demonstration on Sunday 7 January.  Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market Kids' Club offers fun things to cook, grow and learn each week for children aged between five and twelve years.

    Sam Whitehead of Gut Feeling – Sunday 14 January 2018 
    Sam Whitehead became a favourite with Adelaide foodies when he competed in MasterChef in 2017.  In 2015, two years prior to his television appearances, Sam started his business Gut Feeling Fermentation in 2015 and began trading at Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market stallholder.  Sam will be sharing some tips on preparing and working with fermented, raw, local, probiotic products and providing an opportunity for market goers to taste his products.

    Callum Hann and Themis Chryssidis of Sprout Cooking – Sunday 21 January 2018
    Farmers’ Market shoppers will be treated to a cooking demonstration of two dishes showcasing fresh, seasonal market produce by Sprout Cooking School on Sunday 21 January.  Sprout was founded by local MasterChef celebrity Callum Hann and Accredited Practicing Dietitian Themis Chryssidis. 

    Last year Callum and Themis released a new cookbook, ‘Quick. Easy. Healthy.’ in which they present over 70 recipes that use easy to find ingredients, require minimal preparation and clean-up time and represent good value for money.  The book is divided into four seasonal chapters, each full of recipes using readily available, seasonal ingredients along with suggestions for variations and substitute ingredients.

    Jessie Spiby – Sunday 28 January 2018 
    Local Adelaide chef Jessie Spiby competed in MasterChef in 2015 and has since become a regular contributor for, Broadsheet and Clique Magazine, as well as working for two years as a chef at the Botanic Gardens Restaurant.  Jessie has also been running her own catering business Jessie Does Food since 2015 and is an active supporter of OzHarvest.  Passionate about reducing food waste, Jessie was the sustainability manager of TEDx Adelaide and will be the food ambassador for the Cellar Door Fest 2018.
