The Adelaide Farmers' Market is a not-for-profit community market. If you'd like to contribute to your local community, why not donate your talents to the Market and join the team.     Sophie Thomson is a passionate organic food gardener who loves to talk with people about plants, gardening and sustainable environmentally friendly practices. She is a presenter on ABC’s Gardening Australia, writes for a number of publications and has written several books including the award winning From the Ground Up – a complete guide for South Australian gardeners. Sophie joins us at the Market at the beginning of each season to chat about what to do in your home garden.

    Rosa Matto is a well-known local chef, foodie and Prospect Farmers' Market patron with a strong Southern Italian cooking tradition. Rosa, a regular farmers' market goer, believes passionately in the use of fresh, seasonal and local produce. Rosa now has a regular spot on Channel 7 on Sundays at 5.30pm.  She also runs cooking classes from your home! See Rosa's latest recipes here.

    Simon Bryant


    Kids' Club Patron

    Simon Bryant is a face well known to regional and urban Australia. He and South Australian food icon, Maggie Beer, are beamed into thousands of lounge rooms and kitchens via the ABC program The Cook & The Chef. Simon also worked as the Executive Chef of Hilton Adelaide from 2001 to 2009.
    Simon uses his profile to highlight Ethical Food issues, including paying fair prices to producers for ethical foods, using local seasonal food with less environmental impact  and, in particular, the ethical treatment of animals in the food chain.



    OzHarvest is the first perishable food rescue organisation in Australia collecting quality excess food from commercial outlets and delivering it, direct and free of charge, to 600 charities providing much needed assistance to vulnerable men, women and children across Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Gold Coast; Melbourne, Newcastle and Perth.Founded in November 2004;by Ronni Kahn,OzHarvest is the only food rescue organisation in Australia collecting surplus food from a wide range of food providers.

    OzHarvest has worked with the Adelaide FarmersMarket since 2013 and in that time has collected 1248kg of food per month which created almost 14,000 meals.
